Shoes are an essential part of our daily lives, but this category can quickly create a mess in our homes.
We lived in Atlanta (Georgia, USA) when our youngest was born, she spent her first year barefoot because the climate was right for it. 18 years later, her favourite shoes are flip-flops but unfortunately, very few people can live barefoot or even in flip-flops only in the city or in regions where the climate is less suitable.
Between city shoes, office or school shoes, sports shoes (especially if you play more than one sport), summer shoes, holiday shoes, winter shoes, weekend shoes, going out shoes (if you’re a night owl), designer shoes (if you are a fashionista)… all of this multiplied by the number of people in the household, this category can quickly become a nightmare.
Where to put them? In the hallway? How? And you may not have the space. In a wardrobe? In a spare room? In the garage? How to organise them in a way you can easily access them when needed.
There are many solutions and they need to be seriously studied and thought out.
The answers concerning your lifestyle (who does what, where, when, and how), your preferences, the configuration of your family, the analysis of your living space… are the information I use to be able to advise and set up the most optimal storage solutions that meet your needs (my solutions are always bespoke).
Here are some examples of solutions I have implemented for my clients.
